Say goodbye to unwanted noise disturbances in your commercial, industrial, or residential spaces with Soundlag®, the cutting-edge composite acoustic lagging solution designed to minimize sound transmission from pipes, valves, fan housings, and ductwork.
Engineered for superior performance, Soundlag® 4525C is the go-to choice for those aiming to meet the stringent requirements of the Building Code for both habitable and non-habitable rooms.
Through rigorous testing, Soundlag® 4525C (Acoustic Pipe Insulation and Duct Lagging) has proven to reduce the noise by 25 dB. This performance is higher by 5 dB when compared to conventional low noise pipe products, particularly in areas lacking ceilings or with penetrations.
The secret lies in its innovative construction: a dense and flexible mass layer ensures exceptional sound reduction capabilities, while the decoupling layer effectively interrupts the vibration path between the substrate and the mass barrier.
This unique design allows the vinyl external wrap to maintain its flexibility, thereby optimizing overall performance. Additionally, the external foil facing not only provides fire resistance but also serves as an excellent surface for seamless joining of adjacent sheets.

How To Install Soundlag Acoustic Pipe Insulation and Duct Lagging Properly
- Tape ALR is easy to tear by hand.
- Remove the release liner backing
- Position tape centrally over the sections to be joined and firmly press along the entire tape surface.
- Wipe or rub with firm pressure across the tape with a cloth or blade to smooth out any air bubbles or buckles. Do not over-stretch the tape when applying, as this will create buckles and voids in the contact area.
All joints along longitudinal pipe sections must be fitted with an overlap of adjoining segments.
Overlapped sections must then be taped and sealed with ‘Tape ALR’ or equal. A strip of 30 mm foam can be removed along one or both edges as required to provide for an overlap at joints.
For added versatility, Soundlag® is available in alternative color options, including black and white foil, ideal for exposed ceiling spaces where glare reduction is essential.
